Next meeting will be on Friday 8th November 9am in school hall.
STEM & First Nations Studies
During our recent family trip to Central Australia, we had the remarkable experience of visiting Uluru and meeting some of the Anangu people. They were especially impressed by how much our children knew — from naming local animals, and the names and uses of various tools, to explaining the meaning behind traditional dot paintings. Our kids confidently recognised cultural items and shared their knowledge, which far exceeded what we, as their parents, had ever learnt ourselves.
For us, this experience highlighted the importance of First Nations education. Mr. Vaught, their First Nations teacher, has instilled in them not only a wealth of knowledge but also a deep respect for Indigenous culture. Thanks to his teaching, our children were able to engage meaningfully with the Anangu people, showing a genuine appreciation for their heritage.
We are grateful for Mr. Vaught’s work in fostering such respect, understanding, and connection with Australia’s rich and enduring Indigenous history and culture.

Year 3/4 - Yayoi Kusama - Flower Sculptures
Yayoi Kusama is a famous Japanese artist who is crazy about dots! We studied her 3D flower sculptures and replicated our own using paper, plasticine and foam.
These are absolutely stunning, 3/4's you have done a brilliant job!
Prep/1/2 Excursion to Marine Discovery Centre
All students from Prep to Grade 2 visited the Queenscliff foreshore and the Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre on Monday. This excursion connected directly to our learning about habitats and animal adaptations. Students explored the foreshore, discovering shark eggs and various types of seaweed and natural debris. At the centre, they learned how animals defend themselves when threatened. A highlight of the day was the touch tank, where students had the opportunity to feel a variety of local sea creatures.
We would like to thank our Sponsors and our Parents and Friends for fully funding this valuable learning experience for our students.
