Enrolment Management Plan

Our School Zone

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au. This website provides the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones for 2025 onwards. Eligible children have the right to be admitted to their designated neighbourhood government school, regardless of capacity.

The potential future demand for enrolment places from within the local community indicates that Wallington PS must manage enrolments carefully and in accordance with the Priority Order of Placement in the Enrolment Policy.

Students are able to apply for a place at a school that is not their designated neighbourhood school. Students who seek enrolment in a school outside of their designated neighbourhood school can be enrolled in that school if there is sufficient accommodation at the school.

Where there are insufficient places at a school for all students who seek entry, students are enrolled according to the Placement Policy's Priority Order of Placement.

In circumstances when a school may not be able to accept all applications due to existing or future capacity concerns, schools must manage enrolment applications in accordance with the following priority order of placement:

  1. Students with a sibling at the same permanent address who are attending the school at the same time.

  2. All other students in order of closeness of their home to the school.

Statewide Prep Enrolment Timeline

This timeline applies for children starting Foundation (Prep) in 2026. All government primary schools will follow the same timeline in 2025 to support Foundation (Prep) enrolments for the 2026 school year.

You can find information and resources about the new 2025 timeline, including factsheets and the ‘Foundation (Prep) Enrolment Information Pack for Parents/Carers’, at: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep).
